Exercise for Beginners in Dublin 5
Exercise for Beginners in Dublin 5
The Question I always ask my clients(Beginner to advanced) is,” how are you this week compared to last week?” As all we want both inside and outside of the gym is small manageable improvements each week to help us reach our goal.
Does this sound like you…”I want to start exercising, but I just don’t know where to start…what kind of schedule should I follow …who is the right person to ask… My friend Julie says I should work out 60 minutes a day and I should eat only organic food and drink as much green juice as is humanly possible” and the list on.
My advice if you have never trained before is Just Move. Try walk more and mark out in your weekly diary days and times that you can commit to training for 20 minutes 3 times a week at Home. Try our home work out here which is free to download and let us know how you get on.
The next step for exercise for beginners
The Next step…If you have managed to exercise 3 times a week at home for 4 weeks, Brilliant!!!
You have stuck to your plan, sure it’s not perfect and you may have had to change times and days a few times but guess what, YOU ARE STILL HERE and in a better position than you were when you started 3 or 4 weeks ago. Going forward with your new plan, Keep it Simple. Not many of us can devote a full hour every single day to exercising so increase your 20 minutes of training to 25-30 and if you can add in an extra day at home. Admittedly there may be boundaries to exercising at home (equipment etc.) but that’s where we come in. Why not come down and try out any of our MCX classes, beginner friendly and you will be taken through a step by step process to help you reach your goal.
Only Half the Battle
I have yet to mention Food. Exercise alone doesn’t usually achieve long-term weight loss when you have a significant weight to lose. You really need to consider your diet, too. To be successful at anything in life you need to have certain habits built up and it is not different when it comes to eating and exercise.
At Ignite we spend time helping you build habits when it comes to eating well. Most beginners get to this point and PANIC and try to do everything at once. It can be daunting especially if you have trained since PE in secondary school . Start with writing down your daily food intake from Morning to Night so you have an appreciation of what you are actually eating…Be brutally honest with yourself.
The TRUTH…
The Bottom Line is that there is no magic pill for weight loss, no magic number for training days, no magic diet when it comes to health and weight loss. If you have struggled till now and haven’t found what works for you to get the best results, now you have a starting point. If you cannot hold yourself accountable for the choices you make now is the time to look for a Coach that will guide you through your fitness journey and call you out where others have failed to do so…
