About

My Story.
My Mission.

Sean reid | Owner and Head Coach

I grew up in Dublin not far from our Ignite Health and Fitness training Centre. Like most young boys I got involved in Sport from an early age playing football from aged 8 and I’ve been involved in Sport and Fitness since then.
I finished my Leaving cert with good marks and went to work as an electrician and it was around then I had my first personal training session…I was hooked. I continued on being an electrician and even qualified as an electrical engineer which as my clients will testify too is why I have a lot of time for graphs, numbers and figures. But I just had no passion to be an engineer and in 2008 went back to college again and qualified and a personal trainer.
I wanted to learn and expand my knowledge for all things in the ‘Health and Fitness’ industry so I spent the last 10 years constantly studying, attending seminars and courses learning from the best from Ireland and around the world to stay on top of Nutrition, Movement, Anatomy and Supplementation. My Motto

” If you are not improving, you are going to be left behind”

My engineering background has helped me as I like to think my attention to detail is very high when it comes to programme design , nutrition and well being of all my clients. I can honestly say I get a real buzz out of helping people achieve their goals.

Chrissy | head coach

Hi, My name is Chrissy and I am a fully qualified personal trainer and neuromuscular therapist. I have been working in the fitness industry for the part 8 years and my passion is strength training.

My journey began with a desire for a ‘skinny’ image like TV celebs, treating exercise as a means to an end. I’ve experimented with countless diets and trendy workouts, only to find fleeting results and frustration.

The turning point came when I shifted focus from the scale to personal empowerment. Instead of fixating on numbers, I challenged myself with lifting goals and progressive workouts. This transformed training from a chore to a fulfilling pursuit of self-improvement.

Now, my mission is to empower women to break free from the confines of diet culture. You’re more than a scale number or the latest diet trend. You’re strong and confident, deserving of a training experience that boosts your self-esteem. Ready to let go of the cage and embrace a positive relationship with fitness?

Here at Ignite I want to help you get the best results possible. This means creating a training and nutrition plan that best fits your lifestyle.

We will discuss:

Short-term goals: Establishing a consistent workout routine, incorporating at least 30 minutes of exercise daily to boost overall well-being and energy levels.

Daily life: Integrating healthy habits into your daily routine, such as choosing nutritious meals, staying hydrated, and prioritizing sufficient sleep to support overall health and fitness goals.

Previous exercise: Reflecting on past fitness activities, identifying strengths and areas for improvement, and leveraging prior experiences to inform and enhance the current workout approach.

Classes at Ignite: Participating in diverse fitness classes at Ignite to explore different exercise modalities, foster community engagement, and enhance overall fitness through expert-guided sessions.

Long-term goals and our plan: Aiming for sustainable health and fitness by gradually increasing workout intensity, focusing on a balanced and varied exercise routine, and periodically reassessing goals to ensure continued progress and motivation.

Our Ignite is very family focused. Our clients have the opportunity to train with a personal trainer but can also get advice on their recovery from a registered therapist.
