About

My Story.
My Mission.

Sean reid | Owner and Head Coach

I grew up in Dublin not far from our Ignite Health and Fitness training Centre. Like most young boys I got involved in Sport from an early age playing football from aged 8 and I’ve been involved in Sport and Fitness since then.
I finished my Leaving cert with good marks and went to work as an electrician and it was around then I had my first personal training session…I was hooked. I continued on being an electrician and even qualified as an electrical engineer which as my clients will testify too is why I have a lot of time for graphs, numbers and figures. But I just had no passion to be an engineer and in 2008 went back to college again and qualified and a personal trainer.
I wanted to learn and expand my knowledge for all things in the ‘Health and Fitness’ industry so I spent the last 10 years constantly studying, attending seminars and courses learning from the best from Ireland and around the world to stay on top of Nutrition, Movement, Anatomy and Supplementation. My Motto

” If you are not improving, you are going to be left behind”

My engineering background has helped me as I like to think my attention to detail is very high when it comes to programme design , nutrition and well being of all my clients. I can honestly say I get a real buzz out of helping people achieve their goals.

My particular interests are on vaginal birth after Caesarean section, physiological third stage and baby feeding.

Here at Ignite Antenatal I want to help prepare you for your best birth. This means creating your birth plan. A plan that means the most to you and your partner.

We will discuss:

• How to cope with labour
• What your birth partner can do to help you during labour
• Relaxation techniques
• Hospital policies and best practice guidelines.
• Pain relief options
• Mechanism of labour
• When things don’t go to plan
• Third stage of labour
• The baby at birth
• Baby feeding
• The first days of babies life

These are only some of the topics we will cover at your class. The classes are a one day class 10-4pm. We will have light refreshments and a friendly casual atmosphere.

Ignite is very family focused. Our postnatal mothers will have the opportunity to train with a personal trainer but can also get advice on their recovery from a registered midwife.
